Having reached Bahrain and Oman and also having conquered Persia in all of 20 years, the Arabs thought of attacking India. It was in India that they met very stiff resistance and inspite of conquering certain portions of north west, met a string of defeats. From Bahrain and Oman, naval expeditions were launched against Thane, Bharuch and Debal. Starting 636 AD, all 3 naval expeditions were soundly defeated. The commander of the Arab fleet that attacked Debal was killed. In 663 AD, an Arab army was defeated by Chach, the famous king of Sindh and the Arab commander killed.
